Cambridge is of course known for its university but if you were to Google search ‘places to visit in Cambridge’, you will be met with dozens of options. This is quite remarkable when you consider the size of Cambridge relative to other cities in the UK. Below we are looking at the top 10 as we see it but there are many more worthwhile attractions.
10: The Round Church Visitor Centre
This is a major destination for tourists in Cambridge as it is a hub of Christian Heritage. It is usually the starting point for many the guided walks of the city offered by tour companies. 7: Wimpole Hall
Wimpole Hall is a country house located a few miles from the city of Cambridge. The house is over 350 years old and it has more than 3,000 acres of farmland and parkland. This is a botanic garden that is heritage listed and comprises 40 acres of landscaped gardens. 5: The Orchard Tea Garden
This is a special tea room which is located just outside the city of Cambridge in a town called Granchester. It was first opened in 1897 and has become a popular retreat for students and tourists alike. 2: Imperial War Museum Duxford
This is a branch of the Imperial War Museum that was founded in 1977. It is the largest aviation museum in the UK and houses more than 200 military vehicles and aircraft in a total of seven main buildings. It is no surprise to see the world famous university as the number on attraction in the city. It is the seventh oldest university in the world and the second oldest in the English speaking world after its great rival Oxford.
