Essential skills are CSS, HTML,VB/C# .Net and ASP .Net.. Experience with MS SharePoint and SQLSERVER database design and implementation would be a distinct advantage. Desirable, but not essential skills include ColdFusion, Oracle, PHP/MYSQL, XML Schema definition and ESRI GIS software.
With continued growth in Internet-related activities at the Centre, a permanent position now exists for a junior Web Developer/Designer. The successful candidate will be recently graduated in either web design and development or conservation-related sciences, and have experience developing and designing conservation-related web sites and applications.
The UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre, Cambridge, UK, is the specialist biodiversity information and assessment centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and is run cooperatively with WCMC 2000, a UK charity. The Centre’s mission is to evaluate and highlight the many values of biodiversity and put authoritative biodiversity knowledge at the centre of decision-making.
